AyeGirl is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our digital experience in line with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

01

Our Commitment

AyeGirl LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe the ocean belongs to everyone, and so does our brand. We are continually improving the user experience for all visitors and applying relevant accessibility standards.

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

02

Conformance Standards

We aim for partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partial conformance" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to achieve full conformance.

Our accessibility efforts address the four WCAG principles:

  • Perceivable: Information and UI components must be presentable in ways users can perceive
  • Operable: UI components and navigation must be operable by all users
  • Understandable: Information and the operation of UI must be understandable
  • Robust: Content must be robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies
03

Measures We Take

To support accessibility, AyeGirl takes the following measures:

  • Include accessibility as part of our website design and development process
  • Provide all images with descriptive alternative text
  • Ensure sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background elements
  • Use semantic HTML to structure content meaningfully
  • Ensure all interactive elements are keyboard navigable
  • Provide visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation
  • Use ARIA labels where standard HTML semantics are insufficient
  • Avoid content that flashes more than 3 times per second
  • Write descriptive link text (avoiding "click here" or "read more" without context)
  • Ensure form fields have associated visible labels
  • Test our website with screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
04

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, we are aware of the following limitations that we are actively working to address:

  • Some older product images may lack sufficiently detailed alt text — we are systematically updating these
  • Certain animated elements (wave transitions, hero animations) may not respect "reduced motion" preferences on all browsers — we are adding prefers-reduced-motion media query support
  • Some embedded third-party content (payment processors, social widgets) may not fully conform to our accessibility standards — we are evaluating accessible alternatives
  • Our size guide uses a data table that may not be fully optimized for all screen readers — this is under revision

We are committed to addressing these issues in our development roadmap. If you encounter a specific barrier not listed here, please let us know.

05

Feedback & Contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the AyeGirl website. If you experience any barriers, have suggestions for improvement, or need content provided in an alternative format, please contact us:

  • Email: accessibility@ayegirl.com
  • Phone: 1-800-AYE-GIRL (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm PT)
  • Mail: AyeGirl LLC, Accessibility Team, [Address], [City, State, ZIP]

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 2 business days. We try to provide equivalent access to information and functionality as quickly as possible.

06

Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may escalate by contacting the relevant authority in your jurisdiction. In the United States, accessibility-related concerns may be filed with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division or the U.S. Access Board. In the EU or UK, you may contact your national accessibility enforcement authority.

07

Third-Party Content

Our website may contain content from third-party services including embedded social media feeds, payment processors, and review widgets. We do not control the accessibility of third-party content and cannot guarantee that it meets the same standards as our own content. We strive to select third-party providers that share our commitment to accessibility.
